This was yesterday, 3 days before the end of my challenge. The results... Working out is EASY compared to the nutrition aspect of it all. Overall, my numbers haven't really changed; & the numbers that did change were . I WORKED OUT. I thought I was making good choices for the most part. But speaking with my nutritionist, we realized that for a lot of the challenge, I under ate, especially in the area of protein. #SMH So in the last week & 1/2, my meal plan was changed, as was my workout plan. Now, armed with new knowledge, I WILL continue with my journey. I HAVE TO! I cried slightly. I was DISAPPOINTED. I thought I was doing well. I feel as if I let myself down, as well as the people supporting me. Like, I feel f***ed up about it. Now I know how to proceed with my nutrition according to my needs. My trainer has also reassured me that I'm on the right track, & not to stress myself out over the numbers (because I DO do that). It's so FRUSTRATING! But now I KNOW BETTER, & I'll DO BETTER. Watch. Before I started my journey, I was afraid of change and the unknown. I was afraid to step up and out of my comfort zone. I was comfortable living in excruciating pain and feeling sorry for myself as I couldn't even begin to comprehend what a life without pain could feel like. This year by far has been my hardest, in February I hit rock bottom and I thought I was going to lose it all. I was given labels I was never expecting due to my mental health and I tried to run away from my life and everything that was happening. It was at this point in my life that I realised that I had it in me to fight, to give it everything I have because whatever I had to fight for was surely better than the way I was currently living. I had to change my mindset and to get rid of all the negativity I was holding on to, I had to drop the self pity and I had to learn to love myself, every part of me even the bad bits. It's been hard and I have days where I struggle to get out of bed but I do it. I do it because actually I can, and no one, not even specialists can tell me otherwise. I push myself to go to the gym 6 days a week, to some it's excessive but it's my time and it's my therapy. Since I've changed my lifestyle I no longer live in pain, my mental health has never been better and I feel ready after a 5 year hiatus to get back into the workforce. I couldn't have done any of this or made it through the last 5 years without my incredible husband, he has been my rock and at times he has been my emotional punching bag. These past 5 months have been the most amazing months together and it feels like we are dating again. He gives me butterflies and still surprises me every day.
